Eight years ago, Ali was diagnosed with Ankylosing Spondylitis (AS), an incurable autoimmune disease affecting her spine and joints. After suffering from long bouts of pain and immobility, she chose to redouble her commitment to a minimalist way of living. Through eliminating distractions, saying "no" to unnecessary obligations, and focusing on her health, Ali was able to put her AS symptoms into remission.
